Colin McRae feared dead in helicopter crash
Former Rally-champion Colin McRae is feared dead in a helicopter crash in Jerwiswood, near Lanark in Scotland. Colin’s manager confirms to English media that Colin was onboard, together with his 5 year-old son, a friend and his child. All of them feared to be killed in the accident.
Colin McRae, 39, became World Rally Champion with Subaru in 1995, and has won 25 World Rally events. He was a dear friend to Petter, since their partnership in Ford in 1999.
This is a tragic loss to all of us and especially to Petter!
We all must grieve but we also must remember that Colin has gone to heaven! Heaven is not a scary place and God doesn’t take us there until it is our time.
We never understand why he takes young people, children, healthy people…. but there is a reason and it means he needed them.
Colin will never be forgotten!!

I cannot belive the loss we have all had this weekend. It is a truly sad time in rallying again. I think colin was everyones hero young and old and the rally world will not be the same without him. There is evan gretersad news that his son died with him but we wait for this to be confirmed. Im sure all are thoughts are with the Mc Rea family at this time.

Fikk sjokk da jeg så nyheten på vg-nett i går. En av verdens beste rallysjåfører er gått bort. Mine tanker går til den nærmeste familie som har mistet sine kjære i en tragisk ulykke.
Ett lys er tent i kveld til minne om de omkomne og deres familier.
Undrar om man nånsin kommer kunna förstå att Colin och Johnny Mcrae har lämnat detta jordeliv? Colin hedras i mångas minnen av hans framgångar.

Again, i must first commit my deepest sympathies to all the family and friends affected by this tragedy.
My thoughts are with Colin, Johnny, Ben Porcelli, Graeme Duncan and all the family involved.
Colin was a true legend and i feel privalaged i was able to see him in action on the 2005 wales rally gb where another tragidy took place that we will never forget.
Colin, you will be deeply missed.
I hope you are in a better place with your son, Burnsie and Beef.

As true rally fans we are stunned at the loss of Colin and the others onboard the helicopter. Our deepest sympathies go to all involved. Thanks to Petter for allowing us a site where we can express our sadness. First Beef, then Richard and now Colin – God rest you all.

I am so sad to hear that Colin passed away. I heard it in this forum.
God didn’t take Colin and his passengers to heaven, Subaru Girl Viki. He had an accident.
“I returned to see under the sun that the swift do not have the race, nor the mighty ones the battle, nor do the wise also have the food, nor do the understanding ones also have the riches, nor do even those having knowledge have the favor; because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all” (Ecclesiastes 9: 11).
It is the most terrible thing to have loved ones die. God does not cause this, for He is love. But His son gives us a great hope that we could see them again:
“Most truly I say to YOU, The hour is coming, and it is now, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who have given heed will live… Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out” (John 5: 25, 28 and 29).

It is a very Tragic Loss to the Rallying World. I am not able to understand God’s ways. Why does he take away young people? Maybe they are more required there. Petter, we all the fans in India are very sad that we have lost Colin. We pray to god to give both the families strength during this hour of grief.
