Swedish Rally – info
Swedish Rally is just about to happen. With the snow finally arriving last week, we are keeping our fingers crossed for low temperatures. Swedish Rally is almost like a home event for Norwegians, especially since there is no Rally Norway on the calendar this year.
This year Rally Headquarter, servicepark and parc ferme is located in Karlstad, the city were the sun always shines. There will be remote service in Sunne Friday and in Hagfors on Saturday and Sunday. Those of you that are in Sweden and ready for the weekend on Thursday, you might be happy to know that shakedown and the evenings superspecial is in walking distance from the servicepark.
66 crews are on the entrylist, and 5 of them are Norwegians. We have, of course, Petter and brother Henning, but also Mads Østberg/ Ole Kristian Unnerud, Andreas Mikkelsen/ Ola Fløene and Eyvind Brynhildsen/ Denis Giraudet. One female driver is nominated, Ramona Karlsson drives a Subaru Impreza together with codriver Miriam Walfridsson (and yes – Miriam is related to Petters wife Pernilla).
Petter won the Swedish Rally in 2005, but had to retire from the rally in 2007 and 2006. The 2007 rally was won by Marcus Grønholm. A total of 20 stages (340kms) and 1100kms roadsection will give the drivers quite a tough weekend.
Tip of the day; don’t eat the yellow snow!

I asked Tone a couple of weeks ago and I’m pretty sure it will be ready to order online next week. They are just trying to get the online payment system sorted out. I’m looking forward to receiving my package when I join up, too!
