World Rally Championship

WRC is short for World Rally Championship, and consists of several events in various countries around the world. The FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) sets all the rules and regulations for the sport, and also decides where the WRC should go. Every event is held over a period of two or three days, and the fastest driver is the winner. There are 13 rallies on the 2012 calendar.

After each event, the top 10 drivers are awarded with points according to their final position in the rally. The Worldchampion is the one with the most points after the final event of the season. You do not have to enter all rallies to be awarded with points. In addition drivers can score points on a Power Stage. This is usually the last stage on each event, and the winner gets 3 points. Second gives you 2 points and third 1 point.
